This has been weighing on my mind.
Most of us believe this is a good standard to go by. We have heard it since we were kids. So why don’t we follow it?
This is an issue with friendships, marriages and even with people we just meet. Are we to scared to go outside ourselves to see things through their eyes? Are we trying to prevent ourselves from being hurt if we open up to someone? Are we afraid to take down our walls or be vulnerable? Or, are some of us just oblivious? oblivion is NOT bliss. We should treat others the way you want to be treated, even when we don’t think that they will do it in return, these may be the hardest people to be kind to. Be Kinder than people would expect. Give people yet another chance that you may feel they may not deserve. This is something I want to work on. This time of year will make it extra challenging because so many of us seem to be so busy and overwhelmed, we forget to treat others the way we want to be treated.
